Unwanted Hair Begone with Lasers!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

nyc laser hair removal - facial Who in New York City wants unwanted hair on the body or face? No one does. But what hair removal treatments are the very best? Thank goodness for the modern inventions that have brought much respite to the women and the rising in popularity men community. Keeping up with the grooming rituals was harrowing and more often than not one would undoubtedly have important days when there couldn’t possibly be enough time to get rid of them. Thankfully there’s a solution now and permanent hair reduction can be performed through laser hair removal. The procedure, has been explained below to help you along in the process of looking and feeling your very best.

Laser Hair Removal

The procedure:

The area is required to have full hair growth to start with. It is shaved and post shaving laser beams are roamed over that area to stop re-growth. Since, all hair is not alike, laser beams work differently on differently shaped and pigmented hair re-growth doesn’t stop in one go.

How it works:

Heat is created when laser light passes over skin and it targets the melanin in the follicle and hair. When the follicle heats up (if it is in its active phase) its ability to produce hair is disabled and no damage is caused to the closely located tissues.

Types of lasers used for hair removal:

Alexandrite Laser with long and deep beam easily enters the dermis to reach the hair follicle and stop re-growth.

Diode They are made up of small diodes/semi-conductors and have a very long wavelength. Very useful for dark colored skin where alexandrite doesn’t work as well.

Ruby It can easily seek out the melanin inside the skin because of its red color.

Q-Switched Nd: YAG This laser is formed of two laser lights. One is the invisible infrared light and the other is the green laser light. Infrared reaches the deep follicles and green laser treats follicles close to the surface. This way it works for all kinds of follicles and becomes effective.

PROS

  • Almost painless and quicker than electrolysis.
  • Works well for large areas of body for hair removal.
  • Simple and uncomplicated.

CONS

  • In some cases re-growth noticed.
  • Small possibility for skin pigmentation reported
  • Small chance of skin burn and irritation

Laser Hair Removal – Speeding the Evolution

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Our ancestors resembled hairy monkeys and although the evolution did make us less challenged in the “looks” department, in comparison, we still lack the super smooth skin we so much desire.

Laser hair removal is speeding the evolution process that is taking a few too many millions of years, if you ask me, and is giving us hair free skin today!

In the world of instant gratification and life that moves at the speed of light, who has time to wait between waxing appointments or spend extra time in the shower shaving each morning?

The beauty of laser hair removal is its effectiveness and permanent results. Once you commit to the treatments you will see virtually permanent reduction in hair re-growth.

On average you must commit to at least 6 sessions per area treated, but it is a small time investment knowing that you will be “hair free” for the rest of your life.

Ladies, you know what a pain, especially in the summer, it is to wait between your waxing appointments for the hair to re-grow that necessary ¼ of an inch. Shaving each morning is a waste of time and a nuisance. Did someone mention ingrowns and bikini bumps? I bet you will not be missing those.

Some of you will be initially turned off by the price of laser hair removal. I got some interesting information for you that just might change your mind.

In New York City average price of bikini wax is about $35 dollars. Most of us have it done on monthly bases. That gives you $420 per year. If you start your waxing when you are 18, you will get it done for about 42 years. That gives you a whopping $17,640 by the time you are 60 years old.

More than $17,000 is spent on waxing just one small body part.

Laser hair removal in comparison will cost you on average $6000 to remove all body hair, in less than a year-virtually for life!

It is the most cost effective, result proven, and super long lasting solution to unwanted hair.

Smooth skin is always in style and these days with the reasonable prices for laser hair removal, it is easy to achieve.

Silky smooth skin everyday feels amazing.

Having the power to “evolve” today –priceless!

Finding the best Laser Hair Removal Center in New York City

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Our customers agree, Sensitive Touch MedSpa, located in a lovely penthouse overlooking Midtown Manhttan, is the very best when it comes to removing unwanted hair. Our laser hair removal treatment uses the latest in laser technology to remove unwanted hair from anywhere on your body for both men and women.

If you are new to New York City or just visiting, you are going to want to consider all your options.

With over 240 laser hair removal centers in New York City you have plenty of choices, however, not all treatments are same. Here are some helpful tips to use when choosing a laser hair removal center.

1) Shop around before you choose a laser hair removal practitioner. Not all clinics and clinicians are the same. Ultimately, you will want to select one that is both within your price range and seems the most qualified.

2) Ask about prices and procedures over the phone. Some clinics will try to make you come in for a consultation before they give you any further information. If you want to go that route, make sure the consultation is free. There are plenty of other laser hair removal clinics and spas that offer free consultations.

3) Find out what kind of laser the practitioner will be using. If you have darker skin, you will need to find a clinic with a Yag laser, which has the longer wavelength necessary for darker skin.

4) Compare prices on a level playing field. You may find that one place charges more, but also recommends fewer treatments than another place. Some spas use lower-frequency lasers and frequent treatments, meaning you will need to return more often.

5) Choose the practitioner you trust with your body. If the technician makes you feel uncomfortable for any reason or the clinic refuses to answer your questions, then go somewhere else. While this may be a cosmetic procedure, you should still select someone you trust to perform it.

6) Look into the fine print of any special promotions. You don’t want to start treatment only to have the prices increased down the line. Ask the clinic if it offers any pre-paid plans for a series of treatments.
